Great Primates Uganda Safari, 7 days 6 nights Tour
This safari gives you the opportunity to
visit the most important national parks in Uganda for primates viewing, Bwindi,
Queen Elizabeth and KibaleNational Parks.
During the safari expect to take the
Gorilla tracking walk and the chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest. You will do a lot of birding and game drives in open roof vehicles along the Queen Elizabeth National Park, including the boat cruise along Kazinga Channel. Anybody can
join this tour, though the gorilla tracking can be strenuous depending on where
the gorillas spent the previous night.
Day1
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by our
representative who will transfer you to Kampala for your dinner and overnight
at Cassia Lodge/Sheraton (C) Holiday Express (B).
Day 2 - Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After breakfast, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest through Mbarara, Lunch
en-route. Along the way, you will enjoy the wonderful vegetation, the Ankole
long horned cattle and the Ugandan farms. Arrive in Bwindi the home of the
endangered mountain gorillas in the evening. Dinner and overnight at Bwindi
Gorilla Resort – Nkuringo Lodge (C) or Buhoma Community – Kisoro Tourist Hotel
(B). FB
Day 3 - The encounter with mountains gorillas
Your guide will drive you to the site for briefing before the start of the
gorilla trekking at 8am. The forest is spectacular as it offers a heavily dense
landscape crisscrossed by numerous animal trails, allowing access for tourists.
This park is best known for the fascinating mountain gorillas. The time taken
to find them and the terrain varies according to the movements of these
marvelous primates. The thrill of viewing and observing the gorillas is a rare
and exciting adventure. The gorillas are shy and peaceful animals and it is an
unforgettable experience to watch and photograph them as they interact with
each other. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 4 - Tree climbing lions of Ishasha
After breakfast, you drive through the Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Go for the game drive in the open savannah on the edge of the
Albertine Rift Valley. You will search for the typical tree climbing lions
found only in this part of the country. It is impressive to see them resting
and lying on the top branches of fig trees (weather permitting) lunch en-route.
In the afternoon proceed to Mweya Safari Lodge (C) Budget lodge/Camp (B) for
dinner and overnight. FB
Day 5 - Boat cruise along Casing Channel and Lake Edward
This day starts with an early morning game drive along Kasenyi and Queens’s
mile tracks in the park and you may be able to see lions, elephants, Cape
buffalo, warthogs, leopard, spotted hyena, mongoose, waterbucks, Uganda kobs,
topi and a lot of small animals and birds. Return to the lodge for
breakfast and relax at the swimming pool. After lunch, go for a boat cruise for
the best navigation of the Kazinga Channel, a good opportunity for birding, as
you will see many water birds, cormorants, pelicans, eagles, and many other
birds as well as crocodiles, hippos, elephants, buffaloes. In the evening you
proceed to Fort Portal for dinner and overnight at Nyinabulitwa Country Resort
or Fort Motel. FB
Day 6 - Chimpanzees trekking in Kibale National Park
Today we are in the forest for the chimpanzee tracking. This park has the
largest concentration of chimpanzees and other primates in Uganda. Lunch in Fort Portal and return to Kampala for dinner and overnight at Cassia Lodge or
similar (C) holiday inn (B). FB

This day is reserved for the transfer to the airport for your flight back.
