Day 1: Dar es Salaam to Udzungwa National Park    
Depart from Dar es Salaam hotel or airport and drive to Mikumi National Park, where we enjoy a half day game drive on arrival. This park is famous for its open grasslands and the mountain ranges that border the park. A full spectrum of wildlife can be viewed here including wild dog and over 300 species of bird. We later depart for Udzungwa National Park, where we spend our first evening. [LD]

Day 2:  Udzungwa National Park      
After breakfast depart with packed lunch for a guided walk in Udzungwa Mountain National Park.  Depending on the groups fitness level the walk will last between 3 to 6 hours.
UDZUNGWA NATIONAL PARK is one of the newest parks, opened to the public in 1992, and one of the most beautiful wilderness areas in Tanzania. Covering an area of 1900 km2, the uniqueness of this park lies in its biodiversity in hosting a variety of animals and plant species not found anywhere else in the world. The red colubus and the Sanje crested manabrey, elephants, buffalos, leopards, and sable antelopes are some of the residents of this park. A good range of birdlife is present which includes Rufous winged sunbird, Iringa akalat, Lagden’s bush shrike and Udzungwa partridge. Activities include a hike to the Sanje water falls or a climb to the top of the Luhombereo, Udzungwa highest peak.

Walk in the lush rain forest and relax at the water falls, enjoy spectacular views of the south west plateau. Return to campsite for dinner. [BLD]

Day 3 : Transfer to Ruaha National Park
Depart in the morning after breakfast for Ruaha National Park with packed lunch. Game drive on arrival en-route to our campsite. [BLD]

Day 4+5 : Ruaha National Park   
The next two days we spend on morning and afternoon game drives.
RUAHA NATIONAL PARK is Tanzania's 2nd biggest park and host to a number of animals which are rare or absent in the North. The rare animals include the African wild dog, roan and sable antelope and the greater kudu. The Great Ruaha River, which provides life to the park, flows through the eastern side of the park and is home to hippos, crocodiles and a variety of water birds. [BLD]

Day 6 : Transfer to Mikumi National Park  
After breakfast we take a morning game drive, departing with packed lunch for Mikumi town and a visit to Mikumi National Park in the afternoon.
MIKUMI NATIONAL PARK is flanked between the Uluguru and Udzungwa Mountains, and is home to buffalos, giraffes, elephants, lions, zebras and leopards. The park is also famous for its wild dogs and 6 m long pythons. [BLD]

Day 7: Transfer to Selous Game Reserve
After breakfast depart to Selous Game Reserve with packed lunch.
This is a long day on the road, but contains interesting views, such as villages & the Rufiji River. [BLD]

Day 8 & 9: Selous Game Reserve 
SELOUS GAME RESERVE is the largest game reserve in Africa and covers 55,000km², making it four times the size of the Serengeti. You can find over 2,000 species of plants and a great variety of Wildlife. Selous habits between 50,000 and 60,000 elephants and also contains the highest buffalo population in Africa.
Beside the big five you can spot zebras, giraffe, cheetah, monkeys, different species of gnu and antelopes as well as wild dogs. The park is a sanctuary for over 350 bird species and reptiles such as crocodiles, snakes and lizards. [BLD]

Day 8: After an early breakfast we depart on a Walking Safari, accompanied by an armed ranger for approximately one to two hours, followed by an afternoon game drive.

Day 9: After breakfast we explore the Rufiji River by boat. The trip provides the excitement of hippos who often emerge from the water will a snort of protest. You will get the opportunity also to see crocodiles on the sandbanks and watch animals drinking along the river banks. Lunch at the campsite. After lunch you will experience a game drive in the Selous Game Reserve

Day 10: Return to Dar es Salaam 
After breakfast transfer back to Dar es Salaam. Drop off at Hotel of your choice or at the airport for your onward flight. [BL]
