After breakfast depart for Tarangire National Park where you will enjoy an afternoon game drive with a packed lunch.  You will return to the Camp as the sun sets, in time for dinner.
Tarangire National Park gets its name from the river that threads its way through the reserve. The park has one of the highest animal concentrations during the dry season, yet it is one of the least visited of the northern Tanzanian game parks, therefore retaining a real air of undiscovered Africa. Herds of elephants, buffalos, wildebeest, zebras, giraffes and Elands, as well as leopards can be seen all through the year. For the bird enthusiast, the park offers over 300 species of birds. The vegetation in Tarangire is primarily acacia, mixed woodland, dense elephant grass along the river and numerous baobab trees. [BLD]

The park covers 390 km2 and is sanctuary to over 400 species of bird that include the pink flamingos, pelicans, storks, Ibis and Egyptian Geese. The park also contains huge herds of buffalo and elephant. You will then proceed to your Lodge in Karatu area, arriving in time for dinner. [BLD]

Accommodation: Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp (Mobile tented camp located in the Central Serengeti.  Each tent has mosquito netting and en-suite facilities. A large and cozy mess-tent is located in the centre of the camp, where all meals are served, and the fire camp is lit each evening for appetizers and snacks before dinner).

Day 5: Serengeti National Park
Enjoy a full day of game drives in the Serengeti National Park. Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp is ideally located in the very centre of the Serengeti, therefore allowing you the opportunity to head off in the best direction to find the game you desire, regardless of the season.
The Serengeti is renowned for its annual wildebeest migration and large predator population. From February to May, a herd of over a million wildebeests migrates for the Western corridor of the park in search of greener pastures. Serengetis' other common animals include lions, leopards, zebras, Thompson gazelles, impala, Grant’s gazelles and buffalos. Most of the park is open grassland broken by isolated granite kopies (hills) and patches of acacias woodlands. [BLD]

Accommodation: Serengeti Kati Kati Tented Camp (same details as above)

Day 6: Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast you will depart on a game drive and make your way to the Ngorongoro Conservation area, with a short visit of Olduvai gorge and the museum which documents the discovery of 1.8 million year old human-like fossils. During your passage through the Conservation area, you will see many Masaai tending their cattle amongst plains game.  Stop at the rim of the crater to spot game from a distance, before continuing to your lodge for the evening.  [BLD]

At 2286m above sea level and 20 km wide, the Ngorongoro Crater is the largest unbroken Caldera in the world. Surrounded by very steep walls, rising 610m from the crater floor, it covers 260 km2 and is home to over 30,000 animals, almost half of them being zebra and wildebeest. Also home to the rare black rhino, prides of lion, elephant, cheetah and great herds of buffalo, antelope and wildebeest, Ngorongoro is listed as a World Heritage site. [BLD]
